Fiona, in her capacity as the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief, has welcomed the new Chair of the UK FoRB Forum, Mervyn Thomas.
Speaking at the FoRB Forum today Fiona began by thanking outgoing Chair, the Bishop of Truro, saying,
"I would firstly like to place on record my heartfelt thanks to the Bishop of Truro for his profound and unwavering commitment to FoRB. Words are inadequate to express my appreciation and I know I speak on behalf of many, that with all his other responsibilities he has exhibited such leadership and placed such focus on this issue effecting 83% of the world’s population, on which to date too few lights shine like him."
Welcoming Mervyn Thomas to his new role, Fiona said,
"All the very best Mervyn as you take up the mantle - if today's event is anything to go by Bishop Philip has put an excellent succession plan in place. I look forward to continuing to work together going forward,"
