"I am delighted to support Baroness O'Loan's Conscientious Objection (Medical Activities) Bill being debated in the Lords on Friday 2nd February. It seeks to affirm as a matter of statute that nobody shall be under any duty to participate in activities they believe to take a human life - either in the withdrawal of life saving treatment or otherwise. Conscientious objection and the need for us as a society to respect it as matter of both liberty and equality; of individual freedom and social inclusion. I am very pleased that the Inquiry I had the privilege of chairing 18 months ago has fed into this Bill."
