This week in Parliament Fiona has signed the Holocaust Educational Trust Book of Commitment.
Speaking today Fiona said,
"I was privileged to sign the Holocaust Educational Trust Book of Commitment yesterday to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, to remember all those who were murdered and to recommit myself to fight to ensure this can never happen again.
As we mark Holocaust Memorial Day, we remember the 6 million Jews and others murdered by the Nazis. I pledge to learn, and encourage others to learn the lessons and to drive international action to tackle discrimination on the ground of religion or belief."
Holocaust Memorial Day was established in 2001 to honour those who were murdered during the Holocaust as well as paying tribute to the extradordinary Holocaust survivors who work to educate young people today.
Surrounding the Holocaust Memorial Day, thousands of commemorative events will be arranged by schools, faith groups and community organisations across the country, remembering all the victims of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides.
More information on Holocaust Memorial Day can be found on their website.
