Fiona attended the launch at the Centre for Social Justice on Wednesday of Lord Farmer's report titled "The Importance of Strengthening Prisoners' Family Ties to Prevent Reoffending and Reduce Intergenerational Crime". For more thoughts on this subject see Lord Farmer's excellent article today on Conservativehome.
Fiona asked Justice Minister Sam Gyimah for his response to the Farmer Report in Parliament this week.
Fiona said:
"Will Ministers give the House their response to Lord Farmer’s recent report on the importance of strengthening prisoners’ family ties to reduce reoffending?"
Mr Gyimah said:
"Lord Farmer’s report is excellent. Family ties are important not only to helping people to turn their lives around, but also to improve stability in prisons. We will publish our response in due course and will make the House aware of that."
