Fiona Bruce MP met local campaigner and music enthusiast, Scott Glover, to discuss his work promoting therapeutic aspects of music.
Scott is the founder with Dan Russell of a non-profit organization, the Leg8cy Project, backed by volunteers across the country. Having struggled with ADHD, ASD. dyslexia, and mental health Scott found solace through music. Hoping to promote others to do the same, he is striving to create a series of hubs across the UK, starting in Cheshire, with a focus on nurturing budding musical talents. Through this, he aims to bring attention to pressing issues such as mental health, particularly suicide prevention and neurodiversity. Using music as tool to connect.
The Leg8cy Project supporters pledge to provide free training opportunities to upcoming artists. Scott's intention is to unite like-minded music enthusiasts, allowing them to connect through their shared passion and overcome struggles in a positive and rewarding way. They are also committed to making a difference in the lives of young minds by leading those at risk of exclusion into the pathway of artistic expression. As part of their commitment to raising awareness for these issues, Scott, will be climbing Ben Nevis solo climb to bring attention to this cause and destigmatize mental health challenges.
Speaking after the meeting Fiona said “I am full of admiration for Scott and the way he is ensuring that his own experiences are used to benefit many other people.”
