Thank you to the constituents who have contacted me about workers rights and freedom of speech.
The Government strongly supports free speech within the law. It is, of course, important to distinguish between strongly felt political debate on the one hand, and unacceptable acts of abuse, intimidation and violence on the other.
More broadly, the Government unequivocally supports Israel’s right to defend itself. However, it has also repeatedly stressed that Israel must take every precaution to minimise civilian casualties in line with international humanitarian law. The Government continues to press Israel to ensure its campaign is targeted against Hamas leaders, militants and military infrastructure.
With regards to individual companies, please note that the Government plays no role in their day-to-day decisions regarding their staff.
