Fiona attended yesterday’s Active Cheshire event at Cranage Hall, Holmes Chapel, to celebrate female leaders, coaches, colleagues and volunteers and activators from across Cheshire and Warrington.
Active Cheshire hosted the event to say thank you to a wide array inspirational females from all walks of life who were nominated by friends, colleagues, pupils and patients, for an award in encouraging residents to keep fit and well and improve their individual fitness levels in their day to day lives.

“I was extremely surprised to receive an award myself as there were so many women in the room who have done so much more to encourage others to improve their health, wellbeing, and fitness levels and who deserved every commendation they received – such as Congleton Councillor Suzie Akers-Smith who organised the Congleton Triathlon and is inspiring people to take up cycling, and Dot Flint who Heads up Sandbach Partnership and has done so much to improve the facilities at Sandbach Park. It was a privilege as the local MP at the event to thank Active Cheshire and all those inspirational women there who have done so much to encourage others to enjoy a healthier and more active lifestyle.”
