I know that some pupils, teachers and parents are confused and upset by last week’s A-level results and subsequent events and that this is very worrying for those anticipating GCSE results next week so I want to reassure you all that I am doing all I can to help.

Having consulted with Headteachers in this constituency I have written urgently, and in some detail, to the Secretary of State for Education objecting about the impact on local students.

Students’ results should be a fair reflection of their effort and attainment and those affected should be assured their concerns have been heard by me and conveyed to directly to Government.
